Garment Quality Control Process
Quality is built into every stage of production — not just checked at the end. Our 6-stage QC process keeps defect rates consistently below 1%.
6-Stage Quality Control
Each stage is designed to catch issues before they compound — saving time and protecting your brand quality.
Fabric Inspection on Receipt
All bulk fabric is inspected on delivery against the approved swatch. We check GSM, colour fastness, shrinkage (pre-washed vs. spec), and defect density per running metre. Fabric that fails is returned or held for client approval.
Pre-Production (PP) Sample Sign-Off
Before bulk cutting begins, a PP sample is produced in bulk fabric with all trims and labels. Measurements, construction, and finish are verified against the approved proto sample and tech pack. Production begins only after PP is signed off by the buyer.
Cutting Table Check
Pattern placement, notch accuracy, and fabric alignment verified on the cutting table before the first knife goes in. Bundle counts reconciled with cut order quantity.
In-Line Stitch Quality Checks
QC checkers walk the sewing floor at every station, checking SPI (stitches per inch), seam strength, stitch alignment, and construction against the tech pack. Issues are flagged immediately and the operator corrects before continuing.
Measurement Audit
Finished garments are measured against the tech pack at regular intervals across the production run. All size points are checked for every size in the size set. Garments outside tolerance are reworked before packing.
Final AQL Inspection
An AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) final audit is conducted on the packed cartons before dispatch. A random sample is pulled from each carton and inspected for visual defects, measurement, label accuracy, and packing specification. Failing batches are reworked before re-inspection.
Inspection Criteria
Our QC inspections cover both construction and aesthetic quality — the factors that matter when your customer receives the garment.
- Stitch quality — SPI, seam strength, skip stitches
- Measurements vs. tech pack — all key points, all sizes
- Fabric defects — holes, weave faults, colour shading
- Finishing — trimming, pressing, thread cleaning
- Label accuracy — brand, care, size, country of origin
- Packing specification — folding, bagging, hang tags, carton marks
Quality Control Questions
Yes. We welcome third-party inspection agencies at our facility for final AQL audits. Buyers are also welcome to visit during production. We will coordinate access and ensure goods are ready for inspection at the agreed date. Third-party inspection must be coordinated at least 3 working days in advance.
If goods fail our internal AQL inspection, they are held, sorted, and reworked before re-inspection. We do not dispatch below our internal quality threshold. If a third-party inspection fails, we immediately segregate the goods, identify root cause, rework the affected pieces, and re-inspect before requesting re-audit.
